Christine (the Boss)

Hi, I'm Christine 👋🏼

I ventured in to my barbering career in 1997 starting work here at Paul's Barber Shop in 2000. I took over the reigns from Paul in 2004. Since then I've opened two additional shops ..going in to partnership with Donna in 2007 to open HFM Hessle and most recently partnering up with Katherine to open HFM Willerby Road.

I am mum to 3 boys who keep me on my toes and busy most of the time. I love spending time with them, going to their football games and regularly going to Hull City matches.

In my spare time you'll normally find me in the gym, out on a paddleboard in a lake or with friends enjoing a glass (or two) of prossecco.

My passion is my job, I've seen clients grow up over the years, met some amazing people and formed some great friendships simply from getting up and going to work. What is there not to love?

Amanda (ginge)

Hello, I’m Amanda (aka Ginge-born a Ginger - strong character building from the get go)  

I’ve been with the Paul’s team for 12 years now, not bad considering I covered a couple of days for Christine’s first pregnancy saying “let’s see how it goes?” … fast forward to the the present day, Christine has 3 sons now and I’m Godmother to her youngest. I’ve gone from a couple of days a week to working full time - still “seeing how it goes!” Haha 

I’m a mother of three lovely daughters & I’m a Nannie to two beautiful Granddaughters & a gorgeous Grandson 🥰 whom I all love to bits.

 In my spare time (when I have some) I like to bake - during the lockdown year I rediscovered my like for baking so I have the unofficial/official job of making family birthday cakes now. This year I have taught myself to knit and I also crotchet (baby blankets that’s my limitation but self taught also) I enjoy a book and like watching a good box set as and when I can. I’m sociable and love a night out with the bubbles 🥂and I’m partial to the odd cocktail, I mean, who isn’t! 😜

I could go on to chat about my qualifications, I have lots - I’m 51 (the matriarch of the team) so who’s got time for reading all that but I guess the important ones that you need to know about are the ones that run along side my profession. I have NVQ Levels 1,2,3; a couple of Hot towel wet shave qualifications & an ear piercing qualification. Being in the trade nigh on 3 decades now some would say a Master of my trade. It is said that .. “if you do a job you love you’ll never work a day in your life!” .. I guess I’m one of the lucky ones then (not that I’ve always been a Hairdresser/Barber - there’s alot more stories & more to me than just scissors & that’s to chat about another day. ☺️)

Molly (the Apprentice)

Hi I’m molly, I am currently doing my apprenticeship for level 2 barbering. I started off as a Saturday girl and was inspired by all these lovely people who I now get to call my barber mammas. I love my job and can’t wait to be fully qualified. 

Not only do I love my job I love going down to the pub for a pint (or more) 🤪 I have recently passed my driving test and love to take my siblings out for McDonald in my little fiat 500🚗

Hi I'm Gail.

My passion for hairdresing started from a very young age and I started cutting and perming from the age of 12 using my family as my models... and I still do as I'm always eager to learn new things!

I do ear piercing here at Paul's, I became a qualified body piercer early 2017 and offer that as a service at at H.F.M over in Hessle. 

I'm a mum of 2 and now also a grandmother of 4.

At Paul's I'm known as 'the quiet one' or 'the tattooed one' ..but I prefer to be known as the Freddie Mercury Fan.
